- Do I need a developer or a designer to create my website?
The roles of developer and designer frequently overlap in web design, some people can indeed perform both roles. A loose description of the roles are:

A domain name is a specific web site address that you can buy and is used to point visitors to your website.

- I have bought a domain name, do I still need a web host to have my website on the internet?
Yes, you need someplace to host your web pages so that others can view them. Your domain name is merely a friendly address people can use to remember and get to your site.
- What is web hosting?
Web hosting is the physical space that your website will be at. There is usually a monthly or yearly fee to 'rent' this space. We can provide web hosting for our clients.
- Can I choose you to design my site and use my own web hosting?
- What is site maintenance?
Maintenance is the work involves to update your website with new content and items. Most good web sites have new content updated regularly, fresh content will keep your visitors coming back.
Client Guidelines
- What domain name should I choose?
This depends on how you are going to use and market your domain name.
If you are going to be telling people over the phone, choose one that is easy to say and simple to spell. With the number of available domains becoming less and less it can be difficult to find the 'right' name. We're happy for you to contact us to advise you of what might be the right domain name for your business.
- How do I E-mail text to you for use on my web site?
The easiest way for us to transfer the text you send us into your Web Site is by sending it in an eMail in plain ASCII text.
Plain text attachments are also good. (Note Pad .txt document ect.) If you are sending copy for several Web Pages at the same time, please make clear in the file what text is for which page. And We'd as that you please make sure that all your text has been spell checked before sending to us.
- Why can't I see the changes you've made to my website?
Back in the old days of slow internet connections, the web browser cache was invented to store visited web pages and images on your computer, So the next time you visit that same web page on the internet you will in fact only be seeing an old version of that page from your own computer. The problem with this is that if the web page content has changed since your previous visit, you won't see it.
In Internet Explorer on PC, simply hit [F5] to force reload your browser.
In Firefox on PC, simply hit [Ctrl+R] to force reload your browser.
In AOL on PC, simply hold down the [Ctrl] key and click the AOL browser Reload icon to force reload your browser.
On Macs, simply hit [Cmd+R] to force reload any Mac browser.
- I have a large print catalog/brochure. Can I use the same exact design for my website?
Most print designs don't work that well for web pages, We could make the whole page a graphical image exactly like your printed page but large, full page, graphics take a long time to load, search engines can't see them, and they will typically be frustrating to navigate for the customer browsing.
If you are happy with your current catalog/brochure then the main design elements can normally be incorporated into a website design with no problem at all.
It has been our experience that it is usually easier, more cost effective and produces better results for our clients if we create a website based on their print catalog (for example) instead of trying to create a design exactly like the printed piece.
- Can I put 40 or 50 large images on the same web page?
You can but it is generally not in your best interest. Loading many large images on the same web page takes more time and bandwidth than the average site visitor will want to spend when accessing your site. We recommend that you design your site with the the lowest common denominator in mind and spread images out over several pages when possible for fast loading.
- Will my website be accessible to users browsing via their mobile phone?
Your site most likely will be visible to mobile phone users, however their experience of viewing it will vary greatly depending on the phone and website type. If you want to be sure your clients, customers and views can access their site with a mobile phone we recommend adding an additional 'mobile' are to your site.
